Chinese-Australian artist Lin Chunyan (b.1962, Beijing) was trained at the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Western Sydney. He is known for his expressive contemporary oil painting style which delivers a unique sculptural effect. Lin Chunyan’s solo exhibition “Second Spring” curated by Dr. Geoff Raby AO was shown at Vermilion Art in 2019. His works are widely collected in Australia and China.
"Lin has been a prominent figure in the Beijing contemporary art scene for the past thirty years, but his relentlessly honest and individually expressive work has defied categorization. He has stood apart from the main movements of the Beijing art scene. Refusing to be influenced by fashions of the day, he has continued to explore a highly personal emotional world through his painting." -- Dr. Geoff Raby AO, art collector, curator of “Second Spring”
