Rose Wong (b.1988, Hong Kong) is a practising visual artist and art educator currently based in Beijing. She was trained at the University of Hong Kong and Goldsmiths, University of London. Wong’s practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art and performance art. As a female growing up in the colonial era of Hong Kong, power struggle, gender issue, and marginal cultures are Wong’s mother tongue. Her works are personal, and at the same with the accent to connect strangers who share similar nostalgia.
Wong was an international residency artist at the TWT Creative Precinct in 2019, during which time she was featured by the Australian Finance Review (AFR). Most recently, Wong was a winner in the Premio di pittura- Tiziano Vecellio award in 2021. Her works are widely exhibited internationally and are in the collection of major organisations such as La Trobe University Art Institute, the Geoff Raby collections, TWT Creative Precinct and the Shanghai Museum of Modern Art.
