Chen Qingqing

Chen Qingqing (b.1953, Beijing, China) is one of the leading representatives of Chinese feminist art since its rise in the late 1990s. After studying in Beijing and Vienna, she became a professional artist in 1994. She establishes a powerful individual style that embodies a linguistic system of spiritual intuition, a language that can address heavy themes with delicacy and lightness. This facility is an exquisite and imposing characteristic of the feminist language. Displaying a sense of internal spirituality and a pressing feminist determination, Qingqing possesses a powerful imaginative language.

Her works have been collected by public institutions, including China National Museum, Beijing and the New Museum, New York. She has exhibited internationally in Austria, UK, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc.
